Request to the Ann Arbor Park Advisory Commission and the City of Ann Arbor to Join the Friends in Preserving Dicken Woods

The following letter was submitted by the Friends of Dicken Woods, to the Ann Arbor Park Advisory Commission, on June 16, 2003.

Members of the Ann Arbor Park Advisory Commission,

We the Steering Committee of the Friends of Dicken Woods, on behalf of the 162 members of our non-profit organization, ask the City of Ann Arbor Park Advisory Commission (PAC) and the City of Ann Arbor to help the Friends preserve Dicken Woods as a natural area within the Ann Arbor parks system. We ask the city to provide organizational and at least partial financial support for this effort.

For the many reasons outlined on the Friends web site (http://dickenwoods.org) as well as in the document submitted by the Friends to the PAC on June 12, 2003, we feel very strongly that Dicken Woods should be preserved as a natural area.
