Friends of Dicken Woods General Assembly
Minutes for the October 22, 2015
meeting at Dicken Elementary School
Members present: Mason Barr, Mary Duff-Silverman,
Bitsy Lamb, Deb Norbotten, Stephanie Hunter, Dick Williams, Marian Williams,
Leslie Westbury, Rich Westbury, Sandy Foulke.
The meeting was called to order at 8:05
pm.
There was no old business.
Current checking
account balance is $7,134.19. This is keeping with the goal of having at
least $5000 in the account.
Expenses include
$1,000 to the Leslie Science and Nature Center for programs for Dicken School,
$15/year for the use of the school for meetings, $180 paid to Doug Wood for new
saw blades.
Incoming money
includes $215.34 from the fund raiser at Max and Erma's.
Stephanie Hunter
will be turning in receipts for a total of $526.44 to cover costs of trees,
perennials, work day expenses, and miscellaneous.
A special thank you
to Tom Ivacko for all of his work in making the change to the new website.
The new Dicken
Woods Field Guide is available there for viewing.
NAP is printing our
updated Dicken Woods brochure.
Workday will be
Saturday, October 24th and will involve chipping trails and working on the
pollinator corridor along S Maple. Thirty U-M students will be coming to help.
There was some
discussion about taking some of the DW photos and turning them into a type of
note card. We should be thinking about someone with the creative ability
to make this happen.
